Distance Learning

DTA does not offer and never will offer a Distance Learning program. To become a competent professional dog trainer requires hands-on practical training under consistant supervision by a qualified expert in the industry. You cannot learn how to be a dog trainer/instructor by correspondence. For those companies which offer Distance Learning in the Pet Industry, the question must be asked – how do they assess the abilities of someone who they can’t see or can’t evaluate in a proper working environment? It is ludicrous to think these organisations can run a bona-fide training program in this manner. Theory is just one piece of the dog training puzzle. The rest is you actually training dogs and instructing people under proper supervision.

If you are serious about becoming a professional in this industry, stay clear of Distance Learning programs.
